How is Heritage Woods organized ?

Heritage Woods Association is a non-profit organization of all homeowners in the Heritage Woods neighborhood. The Association is an incorporated entity in the state of Maryland, and it is governed by the Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws, and Covenants as given in the “Documents” section of this website.

How is the Association managed ?

The Association is self-managed by a Board of Directors elected by the members of the Association. Each director is a homeowner who volunteers his or her time to administer the affairs of the Association in accordance with the governing documents.

Is membership in the Association optional ?

No. Any person who becomes a homeowner in the Heritage Woods community is automatically a member of the Association. Membership is mandatory. Membership ceases when the person ceases to own a home in Heritage Woods. Every member is subject to the requirements of the governing documents.

Does the Association have an annual fee or assessment ?

Yes. Every homeowner is required to pay an annual assessment imposed by the Association. The funds are used for the expenses of the Association. These expenses are incurred in the administration, management, maintenance, and operation of the Heritage Woods community. The major portion of the expenses are related to the maintenance of the common areas.
